Hi! I can share the code with you but I cannot release work like this for all because the XOOPS Brasil clone from XOOPS.ORG are replacing the credits of ALL my works (the translation of XOOPS2 to Portuguese include).

So I need to wait a solution from XOOPS.ORG before share new releases that can be used in the XOOPS Sphere too. It is very frustrating and smells like "work for free" and not "collaborative work".

PS: I know that Ono is the owner of XOOPS.ORG, but who is the responsible by the actions of xoops.org?

Well, let's review the checklist:

Read permissions
Groups that will have permissions to see
this Category, as well as any open questions
and Q&A inside that category.

and

Apply read permissions on Q&A
Apply the above Read Permissions on all
Q&A within that category, overriding the
current permissions for all these Q&A.

I am wondering how stupid I was! I did not set Read permissions to Q&A, only to 'Categories'. Thank you very much!

Your enCube is super!!

Are there any GPL issues with that anyway?

hum..... very strange,.... I'm testing the smartfaq recoded as xclFAQ in my computer (with the last xcl) and in a very restrictive free server (xcl 2.11) and works fine too...

Look (installed right now):
http://xoopscube.orgfree.com/modules/xclFAQ/
http://xoopscube.orgfree.com/modules/xclFAQ/category.php?categoryid=1
http://xoopscube.orgfree.com/modules/xclFAQ/faq.php?faqid=1

The encube used (updated and "compiled" today):
http://xoopscube.com.br/downloads/encube/encube.zip

xclFAQ (recoded today):
http://xoopscube.com.br/downloads/xclfaq/xclFAQ_2008-05-11_054051.zip

PS:
- smartfaq and xclFAQ can installed together
- encube will remove the follow trackers:
http://inboxinternational.com/images/INBOXsign150_noslogan.gif
http://inboxinternational.com/images/xoops_services_pro_english.gif
- others modules can be cloned (renamed) with encube.
- again, I'm not a PHP developer, I'm just a Lua coder, and I don't have the necessary skill to code a program like encube.

and, sure, create a category AND a Q&A;
AND set the permissions into USER module too.

Re: How to migrate to Xoops Cube Legacy
I decided to go with plzXoo, it's cool. The most important thing made me choose plzXoo is that it is made and maintained by minahito and GIJOE.

I've just written a SQL script to convert SmartFAQ to plzXoo. It looks dirty but worked well for me.

Change 'xoops' with your DB prefix and use this with your own risk

Quote:

TRUNCATE `xoops_plzxoo_category`;
TRUNCATE `xoops_plzxoo_question`;
TRUNCATE `xoops_plzxoo_answer`;

REPLACE INTO xoops_plzxoo_category (cid, pid, name, description, size, weight) SELECT categoryid, parentid, name, description, 1, weight FROM xoops_smartfaq_categories;

REPLACE INTO xoops_plzxoo_question (qid, cid, uid, subject, body, input_date, modified_date, priority, status, size, for_search) SELECT faqid, categoryid, uid, question, question, datesub, datesub, 1, 1, 1, '' FROM xoops_smartfaq_faq;

REPLACE INTO xoops_plzxoo_answer (aid, qid, uid, input_date, modified_date, body, comment, point) SELECT answerid, faqid, uid, datesub, datesub, answer, '', 0 FROM xoops_smartfaq_answers;

UPDATE xoops_smartfaq_answers s, xoops_plzxoo_question x SET x.for_search = s.answer WHERE x.qid = s.faqid;

Thanks again to Mikhail. Without your suggestion I should not have noticed plzXoo.

First report: the enCubed version of smartfaq (xclFAQ) has the same problem: Only Webmasters can view its contents. Registered users and Guests have been granted to access but they cannot view.

- When open /xclFAQ/index.php it redirects me to the XOOPS_URL/index.php with the message: 'Sorry, there is no Q&A to display.'

- When open /xclFAQ/category.php?categoryid=6 it display some children categories without any FAQs. The debug info is

Hi Mikhail,

Thanks for your prompt response. I really appreciate it!

After set the permissions in user module? Here:
http://localhost/modules/user/admin/index.php?action=GroupPerm&groupid=3
?

Yes, I even set SmartFAQ can both be 'Access' and 'Admin' by 'Anonymous Users Group'. (Its blocks are 'Access' too.)

My environment: XCL2.1.4, PHP5.2.6, MySQL5.0.58, Apache2.2.8, Linux x64

I will try both your 'enCube' and plzXoo Alternative 1.01alt and report the results later.

Thanks again.

Strange,... works fine here, in local host.

tested version:

Fixing SmartFAQ to have it works on XCL is just beyond my skill

Avtx, I'm not a PHP developer, but... I'm coding a tool to recode and fix many possible incompatibilities issues with the new modules. Please, look:
http://xoopscube.org/modules/xhnewbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=576&post_id=3426#forumpost3426

The enCube can recode smartfaq module in xclFAQ module..

It turned out that SmartFAQ (ver.1.0.8) does not work well on XCL

The problem is registered users or guests cannot read (view) SmartFAQ regardless how permissions are set. Only Webmasters can. I guess there must be something wrong with its category/faq permissions system that is not compatible with XCL.

Fixing SmartFAQ to have it works on XCL is just beyond my skill

I am looking for an alternative to SmartFAQ.

Any suggestion?
