Kilica released the new profile module
Hi all,

Mr, kilica who is a main developer of XCL 2.2 members released the new profile module prototype. This prototype will be included to XCL 2.2. You can already download & test it. The key feature is that you may add/modify/remove fields of the profile freely. Yes, you may remove 'AIM' field from profile filed of your site and add 'Twitter' field.

For more informations, read kilica's post and please give us your feedback.

I'm testing this morning, I'm very impressed with the simplicity of the interface... Anyone will be able use without problems.

LOL, the AIM field the more "misfeature" of XOOPS! Could have been renamed something else for long!

Some doubts: I was away for a long time, so I don't understand what the difference of purposes of this forum in xoopscube.org and the forum in sourceforge.net. I think great the idea of multilingual forums. in Sourceforge. A forum in Portuguese can be created too?

I'm trying to translate this module to English (before start the translation to Portuguese): DOWNLOAD - Profile module - English - 2009-03-24. Sure, is not perfect, but may be useful to someone ...

I understand.... I was thinking about a multi-language forums, like other OpenSource projects...

About the translation: I'm not fluent in English and I don't know Japanese, so is necessary to check the English files to profile module before release! I replaced some original terms by others but I'm not 100% sure... (will not be released in XCL 2.2?)

PS:

 define("_MD_PROFILE_LANG_FIELD_TIP3","Tip for field 'int'.");

A tech know-how is necessary to understand terms like "INT". Even "Integer" is hard. Just "Number" sounds better and more intelligible in this case (but is just my opinion). Note that is just a example that can be used in another cases.

Integer: An integer is a whole number (not a fraction) that can be positive, negative, or zero. Therefore, the numbers 10, 0, -25, and 5,148 are all integers. Unlike floating point numbers, integers cannot have decimal places. < http://www.techterms.com/definition/integer >

Re: Kilica released the new profile module
Hi Mikhail,

Sounds good to me. 'Tips' should make it easy to understand.
Maybe we can add some more examples within module "Help".

Cheers ^^
